International Roaming

- Check Rogers coverage and rates
- Verify that Rogers has a roaming agreement in your travelling destination. You can confirm whether voice calls and/or data roaming (e-mail, Instant Messaging, and mobile Internet access) are available.
- Verify that your device will work with the network in your travel destinations
- Ensure that your GSM device is compatible with the GSM network frequency of the country you will be visiting. Please note your GSM phone or wireless handheld must operate on a country's listed frequency in order to make or receive calls.
- Learn how to use your device while roaming

While you're in Canada, save all numbers in your device's speed dial with "+ [plus sign] 1 (area code) and 7-digit phone number." By doing this, your calls in Canada will not be affected and when you travel overseas, you just need to press the pre-registered phone number and your call will also be completed with no additional dialling requirements. And even though you've entered a pus sign and a 1, only local airtime will be charged for calls you make within your local calling area.
Partner networks need to be able to identify your wireless phone on their network. If you've blocked your wireless number from displaying for outgoing calls by using #31# or setting the feature in another way on your phone, you MUST cancel this feature before travelling. If you need to have your number blocked while roaming, please call us and we'll set this feature for a nominal fee. This will ensure your phone will work properly while blocking your number on outgoing calls during your travels.
Emergency Calls While Roaming
We recommend that you obtain the emergency phone number for the country you are visiting as soon as you arrive and keep it handy in case of an emergency. In most European countries, dial 1 1 2. In the United States, dial 9 1 1.
